Disclosure
While it is a good practice for the visitor of any review site to treat every product recommendation with a healthy degree of skepticism, it could be a mistake to consider that every review is invalid just because there may be a commission paid to the reviewer. Following are some of the readers protections we strive to build into our reports:
1. Many of the reviews consist of much genuine information that is simply verifiable. We always want to provide an honest and credible assessment.
2. The review contains a part that is a subjective summary. This is build on the individual experience of the reviewer.
3. Attempts are made to achieve the general consensus in relation to certain products by reading reviews of those products on other websites, and user testimonials and we try to portray this overall impression in our reviews.
4. We include links to the manufacturers’ site to give additional information that is not provided in our assessments. Some of this information may include customer testimonials, more specialized product details, purchase information, free newsletters and even samples.
These are good rules of practice. It is relevant for you as a consumer to have knowledge of the relationship between a person reviewing the product and the manufacturer.
If you do not see a disclosure policy on a review site, that reviewer may be committing an offense.
I hope that you have an useful and meaningful experience as a result of our detailed reviews and articles. We welcome any comments that may help us to advance your experience when searching this site.
